Liz Walker
Each month, we love highlighting one of the incredible women who make our MomCo communities such special places to belong. These are the moms who quietly step in, offer a helping hand, and radiate the love of Jesus through their faithful, everyday presence. Their kindness often goes unseen—but not unnoticed.
This month’s shoutout comes from group leader Sam Scott, who nominated her friend and fellow mom, Liz Walker. Sam’s nomination is full of gratitude for Liz’s steady support and servant-hearted spirit—and once you read her story, you’ll understand just how much Liz means to their group.
Who are you nominating, and how do you know them?
I’m nominating Elizabeth (Liz) Walker. Liz is stepping into leadership for the first time this year, but she’s no stranger to our group. She was an active and faithful member throughout our very first year. I’ve known Liz since the beginning of our group launch, and even in those early months, it was clear she carried a heart for service and a quiet strength that drew others in. From day one, she showed up with such sincerity and care—not just for the group itself, but for each mom in it.
How long has she been a MomCo member and part of your local meetup, and what has her involvement looked like?
Our group officially launched last year, and Liz joined right away, even though she wasn’t sure she’d fit in—her kids were older (5th and 10th grade), and she wondered if she belonged. But she came anyway, and quickly became such an essential part of our rhythm. From faithfully showing up to helping behind the scenes—bringing food, picking up supplies, lending a hand whenever it was needed—Liz has been that steady, dependable presence every group needs. She’s also been a safe, listening ear during meetups, always ready to offer encouragement or a thoughtful word to someone who needs it. Her presence has helped make our small group feel warm and connected, even as we’re still growing.
Tell us about a time this member went above and beyond.
One moment that stands out to me was during the winter when I came down with the flu. As the only leader of our small, newly launched group, I felt stuck. We had a meetup scheduled and I knew I physically couldn’t be there, but I also hated the idea of canceling. I reached out to Liz, and without hesitation, she agreed to help. I went in beforehand to set everything up so all she had to do was greet, press play on the video, and be a warm, welcoming face. It ended up just being Liz and one other mom that day, but she still showed up with grace and joy. That act—small on the surface—meant so much to me. It showed her reliability, her heart, and her willingness to serve others in quiet, faithful ways.
What has this member meant to you personally or to the other moms in your meetup?
Liz has been such a gift to me personally. As I’ve navigated the joys and growing pains of leading a brand-new group, her encouragement and steady friendship have been invaluable. She’s also made a significant impact on others—she’s the type of person who notices when someone’s in need and quietly steps in to help, even anonymously sponsoring other moms’ memberships without seeking recognition. That kind of generosity reflects who she is at her core—kind, thoughtful, and incredibly selfless. She’s helped create a culture of kindness and belonging in our group, and we’re all better because of her.
If you could say anything to this member to tell her about the positive impact she is having on others, what would it be?
Liz, you may not always realize it, but your quiet strength speaks volumes. You have a way of making others feel seen and cared for just by being yourself. Your warmth, humility, and willingness to serve have deeply impacted me and so many others in our group. I’m so thankful for you, and I can’t wait to watch you step into leadership this year with that same grace and kindness. You’re already changing lives—just by showing up as you.
